By empowering business owners and nonprofits, the Florida Community Development Legal (FCDL) Project is contributing to a brighter future for the Sunshine State. Main areas of focus include representation of small immigrant- and minority-owned businesses, nonprofit organizations, affordable housing, and community groups engaged in economic development activities.
Free and Low-Cost Legal Services
Through its project providers – Bay Area Legal Services, Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida, Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Legal Aid Service of Broward County, Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., and Legal Services of North Florida – FCDL delivers free and low-cost legal services and advice to qualified clients, creating access to greater economic opportunities and community services.

The Florida Community Development Legal (FCDL) Project provided free legal services and assistance to 106 new nonprofit clients and 71 new small business clients during the 2019 grant reporting period. All of our participating organizations aim to provide free civil legal services to those who could not otherwise afford it and increase access to justice.
The Florida Bar Foundation
The Florida Bar Foundation is a statewide 501 (c)(3) public charity that provides funding for community legal aid. The Foundation provides greater access to justice in Florida through through strategic grant making and investments in assessment, training, technology and technical assistance in order to help grantees build capacity and operate efficiently.
